Don't Bore Us, Get To The Chorus! Roxette Live In Birmingham 06.07.12

On Friday I finally got to see one of my favorite bands live.  I have enjoyed Roxette's trade mark power pop since the late nineties when a work colleague lent me the greatest hits.  I was hooked!  Ever since then I have wanted to see them perform live but they hadn't been in the UK since 1994.  It was worth the wait, Per and Marie did not disappoint as they made there way through their back catalogue of hits that had the crowd singing, dancing and clapping in the aisles.  One thing I did notice was they looked their age, in my head they were still the same as they appeared on that Greatest Hits album, I forget that CD was released some fifteen years ago.  Marie, at times, looked ill and it was obvious that she still wore the scars of her brain tumor she suffered several years ago but that couldn't hold back her powerful voice.  She's still got it.  Per, was as usual, very entertaining, dancing and jumping around the stage like a man possessed, I still love that man's voice!
They were on stage for a little over 90 minutes, but it went so fast from the opening chords of Dressed For Success to the final bow after the beautiful and acoustic Church Of Your Heart.
Personal highlights were, She's Got Nothing On (But The Radio), It Must Have Been Love (if only for the audience participation) and Listen To Your Heart, but in all the whole show was fantastic from start to finish!
